About this song
The Devil Thought He Had Mw is a single credited to JD Steel, released on 11 March 2026 with 10067505 Records DK, a distributor's numbered placeholder, on its rights line; the typo in the title is how the release is listed on Spotify, Deezer and YouTube. The act's own upload of the song, titled The Devil Thought He Had Me, presents it as a survival anthem about getting back up when life tries to knock you down, built on faith and defiance and the idea that the devil can celebrate too early. The Spotify recording runs 3 minutes 17 seconds. Deezer marks the release as AI-generated content, saying it includes tracks detected as generated with the use of AI.
