What AIPopDB stores in your browser, what the services on our pages may store, and how to control it.
The short version
AIPopDB does not set cookies of its own, and does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Some pages include players from YouTube and Spotify, which may set their own cookies.
What we store in your browser
We keep two small things in your browser’s local storage. Neither is sent to us, and neither identifies you:
- Your light or dark mode preference, so the site looks the way you left it.
- A note that you have read a news brief today, so reloading the page doesn’t count as another read. Notes are per brief and per day.
Other services
Some records include a video or music player from YouTube or Spotify, so you can watch or listen without leaving the page. When a player loads, or when you play it, that service may set cookies and receive information from your browser, under its own policy.
Our fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your browser’s request, including your IP address.
Managing cookies and storage
You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser’s settings. AIPopDB works without them; only the YouTube and Spotify players may not play, and the site may forget your light or dark mode choice.
