Hear Where I’m Coming From

Hear Where I'm Coming From is a JD Steel single released on 31 August 2026, running 4 minutes 38 seconds. Its YouTube upload, titled Why We Need To Listen, sets out the idea behind it: what might happen if a country fan gave Tupac a fair hearing and a hip-hop fan let Johnny Cash play through the speakers. The description stresses that the song does not ask anyone to give up their culture or beliefs, only to listen to someone's story before judging it, since hurt, love, struggle and hope sound alike across genres. Deezer marks the release as AI-generated content, detected as made with the use of AI. It was self-released by JD Steel Music LLC through DistroKid and is filed as country rap.
