Biography
Ralf Hildenbeutel is a German composer and producer, born in 1969 and classically trained in piano and composition. In the 1990s he was one of the main producers at Eye Q Records and co-produced Sven Väth's albums from 1991 to 1998, including An Accident in Paradise; his live project Earth Nation debuted at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1994.
After his production company Schallbau closed in 2008 he concentrated on film music, and the World Soundtrack Awards credits him with more than 40 productions, mixing orchestral and acoustic writing with electronics. His scores include Vincent Wants to Sea, Eine Villa mit Pinien, which won a prize at Filmfest Dresden in 2017, and Italian series such as Màkari, Monterossi and Supersex.
He is credited with the music for Be Brave, Francesco Carrozzini's documentary about Renzo Rosso, which Venice's festival director described as made entirely with AI. The festival listing does not say how the score was made.
