Noonoouri
Noonoouri is a stylised, doll-like CGI fashion avatar created by Munich designer Joerg Zuber and his agency Opium Effect. Zuber says the idea dates to his childhood and was pitched to investors for about seven years before he launched her himself in late 2017. She debuted at Fashion Week in 2018 and became known through collaborations with Dior, Versace, Marc Jacobs, Valentino, Skims and KKW Beauty; she is represented by IMG Models. Her stated manifesto is "Never Be Silent": vegan, anti-fur, sustainable fashion, causes for children, animals and nature. In September 2023 she signed with Warner Music Germany and released the single Dominoes with DJ Alle Farben, followed by Up All Nite (with ENISA), Release Me (with Max and Harvey), Shy Shy and Let Me Be. She also appeared as a Barbie from Mattel (Oct 2024) and in a Fortnite island promotion (Feb 2025).

Summary

Is Noonoouri AI?
Yes. Noonoouri is a fully synthetic, doll-like fashion avatar created by Munich designer Joerg Zuber; her own site now calls her an AI-generated personality, though she has also insisted she is CGI, not AI.
Every account agrees on what she is not: a real person. Joerg Zuber, a Munich graphic designer, and his agency Opium Effect created her as a character, and he told deutschland.de she "is and will remain a character". No human model, performer or voice actor is named behind her face or body.
What the sources dispute is the label. In a 2023 YouTube series she said "I am NOT AI, but CGI" and that her clothes, makeup, poses, dance moves and vocals are made by humans, not AI (reported by virtualhumans.org). Press that year, including designboom, described an AI-manipulated singing voice, and in 2026 her own site says "As an AI-generated personality, I bring her to life, supported by a dedicated team", while Spotify tags her page "AI Persona". I weight the operator's most recent statement and Spotify's label over the 2023 denial, which reads as a rejection of the "AI influencer" tag for hand-built CGI rather than a claim that a human is inside.
Still unknown: which AI tools produce her recent photoreal Instagram stills, whether a human singer records her vocals, and who that singer is. The 2019 creator quote predates the current tooling.
Evidence
Her own site says: "As an AI-generated personality, I bring her to life, supported by a dedicated team", and describes her as a blend of AI, CGI, 3D and realism.
noonoouri.comdeutschland.de reports she was created by Munich graphic designer Joerg Zuber and his agency Opium Effect, and quotes him saying she "is and will remain a character"; no human performer is named.
deutschland.deHer Spotify artist page carries the label "AI Persona".
open.spotify.comHer own YouTube series is titled "I am NOT AI, but CGI" (three parts), a denial of the AI label made after media called her an AI influencer.
youtube.comvirtualhumans.org reports she posted a video series saying her clothes, makeup, poses, dance moves and vocals are made by humans, not AI.

How Noonoouri is made
Doll-like by choice
Zuber says he deliberately kept her manga-like and doll-like so no one mistakes her for a real person, and to avoid reinforcing an unrealistic beauty ideal.
deutschland.de ↗Human-made production
After media called her an AI influencer, she posted a video series saying her clothes, makeup, poses, dance moves and vocals are made by humans, not AI.
