Bum Bailey

Every page that describes Bum Bailey treats it as a digital character, not a person. In October 2021 Yahoo's In The Know called Bum Bailey a non-binary virtual influencer created by ColourCollectiveStudios, a Gumby-like blob with long arms and legs. VirtualHumans.org lists it as a virtual influencer that first appeared on 29 May 2020, credited "BumBailey (TM) (c) 2020 by ColourCollectiveStudio". The account also calls itself virtual: in a December 2021 VirtualHumans.org interview it said its members were the first virtual influencers to show cellulite on social media.

The interview was answered in character. Bum Bailey is presented as a group of characters (Neeka, Bianca, Nana and others), and its clothes are said to come from Nana's in-world fashion house. Its best-known clip, Neeka walking to Lizzo's "Rumors", uses Lizzo's recording, not a voice of its own. No page names a human who performs, voices or puppets the characters, so this is an AI persona rather than a hybrid.

Some things are still unknown. No source names the people at ColourCollectiveStudio or says how the characters are made, whether by 3D animation or generative tools, so "AI" here means a computer-made character, not a confirmed use of generative AI. VirtualHumans.org now marks the persona as inactive or discontinued.
