Algerian-French star Soolking, known for mixing raï with French rap and popular across the Maghreb diaspora, appears on Cogite, a single released on 10 July by Willylancien, an anonymous rap act whose sound is widely taken to be AI-generated. Martin Cid Magazine treats it as the first time an established French urban artist has lent his name to the project.
Willylancien broke through earlier in 2026 with Magique, which topped Deezer's trending chart and reached Spotify's French top ten. There is no known performer and no interviews, and four of five detection services flagged the audio as synthetic, two pointing to Suno. When radio station Skyrock playlisted Magique, its director said it would not stand in the way of progress, and the novelty became a public row.
The rapper Lil Zamm is said to write the words, with AI tools then producing the music, leaving authorship unclear under French copyright and raising the question of who answers for an AI act's commercial output. The magazine argues a feature from an artist with Soolking's platinum record makes the act look like a collaborator rather than a gimmick.
Neither side has said why the track was made or whether more will follow; Cogite is available on YouTube, with no follow-up announced.
