An Australian Instagram star with more than 80,000 followers is not a real person. LADbible, citing an ABC investigation, reports that "Bindi Raye", who posed as a 20-year-old fly-in, fly-out mine worker, is an AI-generated character used to steer fans to paid adult videos on the subscription site Fanvue.
The account built a full life around her: high-vis work gear, nights out, a football team, wine with friends, even opinions on the food at her work camp. Many photos showed her high-vis jacket barely buttoned, which helped the follower count climb. The tells were the usual ones. Background text came out as garbled nonsense, her face shifted between posts, and her jacket changed from one image to the next, sometimes showing the logo of a real mining firm.
That company told the ABC it has never employed anyone by that name. Instagram has started removing her posts under its rules on unlabelled AI content; Meta says synthetic images are allowed, but realistic ones must be disclosed.
The account responded with a post hinting that people should not believe everything they hear. Some followers asked to see her real face, while plenty kept praising her looks, and the report treats her as one of many such AI profiles funnelling followers to paid sites. It warns that spotting them will get harder as the tools improve.
