Bindi Raye
Persona presented as a 20-year-old fly-in fly-out (FIFO) mining worker in Western Australia's Pilbara, posting about mine-site life, West Coast Eagles and Cottesloe Beach. An investigation published 24-30 Sep 2026 found the images and video AI-generated (garbled background text, shifting high-vis clothing, lip-sync and shadow errors; a cybersecurity expert said 'almost 100 per cent' AI) and that the account funnelled followers to paid Fanvue subscriptions with adult videos. A named mining company said it never employed anyone matching her. Instagram removed the account/posts after media enquiries for lacking AI disclosure; TikTok added AI-generated tags.

Is Bindi Raye AI?
Yes. Bindi Raye is an AI-generated persona posing as a 20-year-old FIFO mining worker in Western Australia, used to steer Instagram followers to paid adult content on Fanvue; whoever runs it is unknown.
The account never said it was AI on Instagram, but an investigation reported by the ABC, PerthNow (republished by The Nightly) and LADbible in late September 2026 found that it was. The strongest evidence comes from the platforms. Her Fanvue profile is marked AI-generated, and Fanvue's head of trust and safety, Rob Haywood, told the ABC she was confirmed as an AI creator there. After the coverage, TikTok tagged her videos as containing AI-generated media, and Meta removed the Instagram account for failing to disclose realistic AI content.
The press findings point the same way. A University of Queensland cybersecurity expert, Priyanka Singh, called parts of the page "almost 100 per cent AI-generated", citing lip-sync, frame and shadow errors. Background text came out warped. A mining company whose logo appeared on her high-vis jacket said no one with that name or appearance had ever worked there. No source names a human performer, voice or model behind her.
It is still not known who operates the persona. Fanvue says every account links to a real, verifiable person, and PerthNow's request to the creator got no reply. No source reports whether a real woman's face or body was used as a base. The persona itself replied only "don't believe everything you hear".
