About this song
"The Porous Heart" is a single by Kelly Boesch, released on 15 January 2026 by Gelsomina Studios under exclusive licence to Nettwerk Music Group. Boesch wrote it as a response to scenes of immigration enforcement in Minneapolis that left her, as an overly empathetic person, feeling helpless: the lyrics describe someone too open to stop feeling the world, and ask how others can cut the nerve to the heart. Its video, a short film posted on her channel, shows people walking through crowds with their hearts and lungs exposed, made in Midjourney with a style reference she says has a Magritte feel. She wrote the lyrics, and the music was made under her direction with assistance from Suno.
