Biography
Matthew (Matt) Hornick is a member of shy kids, the Toronto indie pop band and filmmaking collective, alongside Walter Woodman and Patrick Cederberg. His own site describes him as a motion designer at shy kids who also develops and edits films, TV and music videos, occasionally writes and directs them, and writes and produces the group's music. He co-produced Noah, Woodman and Cederberg's 2013 short that won Best Canadian Short Film at TIFF.
The band's releases run from the 2012 EP field trips to the 2025 album a gathering of batteries, and in 2024 the Prism Prize gave shy kids its Hi-Fidelity Award for innovation in music video. Leeding Lady Productions credits him with the music on Air Head (2024), the shy kids short made with OpenAI's Sora; fxguide reports the film's score is The Wind, a song from the band's back catalogue.
