Biography
Sidney Leeder is a filmmaker and performer who, according to her own site, started as a dancer in commercials and music videos before acting in productions including iZombie and Bang Bang Baby. She came to production as a commercial coordinator; a 2021 LA Fashion Film Festival bio says she began producing in 2015 on Drake's short film Jungle, where her site says she was B-unit producer. In 2016 she wrote, produced and acted in (rough cut), a short about sexual politics on a film set that premiered at TIFF, was a Vimeo Staff Pick and screened at MoMA in New York, and she followed it by writing, directing and dancing in the short Player.
At the Toronto collective shy kids she leads business growth, strategy and day-to-day operations while also working as a producer, writer and performer. She produced Air Head (2024) and Deflated, which her site describes as two of the first films made with OpenAI's text-to-video model Sora; fxguide names her as Air Head's producer on a three-person team that made it in about two weeks. Her site says she is now producing shylo, an animated feature directed by shy kids.
