More than 900 people in the UK have signed an open letter from the Agents of Young Performers Association opposing AI clauses in contracts offered to child voice actors.

The letter says a major studio behind a long-running animated children's franchise is insisting that young voice actors agree to AI use of their voices across the franchise's commercial output, and will not drop the term. It names no show, but Peppa Pig owner Hasbro Entertainment responded that it knew of the letter, would not discuss individual negotiations, and called child performer protection central to the company.

The signatories argue that children cannot give informed consent and that a parent's signature should not license a child's voice to be cloned or reused indefinitely. They want all agreements involving children exempt from AI use and say they will turn down contracts demanding open-ended voice rights.
