TaTa Taktumi, the AI artist launched by Timbaland's company Stage Zero, has signed with Hong Kong's Pacific Music Group, which will manage her in Asia and act as her record label worldwide. With the signing, the project is now described as a "part human" or hybrid artist: Pacific Music's announcement says a real performer of Filipino heritage stands behind the digital persona, though her identity is being kept private. The company says acknowledging the person behind the music reflects the human voice at its centre, as she begins to step forward for the project's next phase.
That is a shift from how TaTa was introduced. When Timbaland launched Stage Zero in June 2025 with producer Rocky Mudaliar and AI music strategist Zayd Portillo, he presented her as an autonomous, AI-built artist rather than an avatar or a character, and as the first star of what he called A-Pop. A New York Times feature later reported that a person was involved. Her debut single, Glitch x Pulse, came out in October 2025.
Pacific Music was founded in November by Ne-Yo, Sonu Nigam, MC Jin and executive Jonathan Serbin to develop artists from Asia. Serbin presented the reveal as a way into the region and a return to her roots, and the company will handle positioning, release campaigns, partnerships, media and brand work across key Asian markets, with releases due over the coming months. Stage Zero chose the company as TaTa's exclusive Asian manager and her global label for all upcoming releases. Timbaland described TaTa as a shift toward what he called hyper creativity and a new kind of artist development, in which music, visuals and identity can take shape at the same time, sometimes in reverse order. TaTa herself, in the announcement, described the project as blending technology and humanity, and identity and imagination.
MBW notes that Stage Zero is separate from Suno even though Timbaland advises the AI music company, having partnered with it in October 2024 and backed its settlement with Warner. Pacific Music has also just started an electronic imprint, Ghostone Records, run by Thai DJ and producer 22Bullets, with electronic artist Lizzy Wang as its first signing.
