Searching for Mr. Deepfakes, a 16-part vertical documentary, went up on Paris Hilton's TikTok account on May 27. Her production company 11:11 Media partnered on it with journalist Laurie Segall, who made the series through her creator-led network Mostly Human Media.

The episodes follow Segall's investigation into Mr. Deepfakes, a site that drew around 17 million monthly views at its peak and hosted a community selling sexually explicit fakes of celebrities and ordinary people alike. With other investigators and ethical hackers she traced its owner, and the site went offline in May 2025. The first episode passed 1.6 million views within hours.

Segall has spent three years on explicit deepfakes and argues the pattern repeats earlier abuse: the technology moves first, the law trails and women are hit first. She presents the short-form format as a way to do rigorous reporting where audiences already are. Hilton, who campaigned this year for the DEFIANCE Act, says she wants the series to push for stronger protections.

Tubefilter places the release against a wave of deepfake harassment of female creators, and notes that YouTube and TikTok now let people report fakes of themselves even as they ship tools for putting users into other people's videos.
