ElevenLabs has opened a marketplace where users can publish tracks made with its AI music model and earn money when others download, remix or license them. Licences come in three tiers: social media, paid marketing and offline use.
It copies the company's voice marketplace, which ElevenLabs says has paid out over $11 million; its music model has made close to 14 million songs.
The Decoder flags the catch: fully AI-made music generally has no copyright, the terms promise no exclusivity, and the seller carries all legal risk. Prompts naming real artists, songs or lyrics are banned.
