Elon Musk said on X on 7 October that Grok Bot, the agent app now run under SpaceX, will no longer lean on a single model. For each task it will call whichever back end suits it best, and he named Claude Opus 5.5, Midjourney and Suno among the services involved. He framed the test as whatever is likeliest to give users the best outcome. In practice that points to Claude for text and reasoning, Midjourney for pictures and Suno for music.

“Operating principle is to give Grok Bot users the best possible combination of speed & intelligence”

Musk also said most requests to the Bot are simple, so they will be sent to a very fast Grok 4.8 once that model ships. A member of the Grok Bot team separately said every Bot would run on Claude Opus 5.5. Neither the post nor the replies gave a date, or a map of which task goes to which provider, so it is unclear how often a music request would actually reach Suno.

The Suno link matters because SpaceXAI has no music model of its own, and Tbreak reads the move as a way to fill that hole. Grok Bot reportedly makes music through ElevenMusic, MusicGen and Stable Audio as well. It went into beta in August, comes with most SuperGrok and paid Cursor plans, and was reported at about 418,000 weekly users in mid-September. SpaceX took over xAI in February and bought Cursor in August.

Users on X asked when any of this would arrive and who would hold rights over what the tools produce. One pointed out that neither Suno nor Midjourney sells an official API. Data-handling terms for the arrangement have not been published.

The timing is awkward for Suno, which has just launched its Speech feature, combining voice and music in one track. It is also facing lawsuits, complaints from subscribers over its v6 model and an Italian inquiry into its terms. Both outlets treat the music routing as a stated intention rather than a shipped feature, and whether a Grok Bot music tool arrives is, for now, unconfirmed.
