Guitar string maker D'Addario has admitted that Suno Studio was used on the backing track of a product demo it posted on Instagram. Musicians had flagged signs of AI soon after the video went up.
The company first denied it several times, blaming heavy plug-ins and AI-assisted mastering in a 600-word post. After a review it reversed itself and apologised for sharing inaccurate information.
It now says staff and partners must disclose any generative AI use, and that it will moderate comments less heavily. The clash shows how quickly musicians turn on brands caught using AI.
