YouTube Music now shows a small "AI" tag directly beneath a track's title when artificial intelligence had a significant role in making it.
The tag covers songs generated entirely by AI as well as tracks where a model produced major parts, such as the vocals. Tapping it opens a short menu explaining how AI was used on that recording.
It mirrors the AI labels YouTube already applies to video, and the reporting treats it as a tidy answer to the flood of low-quality generated music.
The same labels are expected to reach the video player in the main YouTube app at some point. Spotify has started labelling fake artists, while Deezer is rolling out a filter that screens AI tracks out.
