Boy George has said he regularly writes songs with ChatGPT and has produced about five albums with its help.
On Fearne Cotton's Happy Place podcast he described the chatbot as a big help to him as a lyricist. He argues with its suggestions, rejects lines that don't sound like him, and says it can be trained to his taste. He does care about jobs, he said, but thinks the industry wants artists to work the old way, and quipped that anyone a robot replaces was not trying hard enough.
The outlet sets this against a Landr survey in which 87% of 1,200 musicians said they use AI somewhere in their process, Charlie Puth's role at Moises, and warnings from Keith Urban and Paul McCartney.
