Apple Music told the industry by email that labels marking AI-made tracks will appear later this year, without naming a date. It builds on the AI Transparency Tags it gave labels and distributors months earlier.
Apple is leaving disclosure to those content providers, saying they know best how a track was made. It did not say how the rule will be enforced.
The move follows an RIAA- and IFPI-led push for explicit-style AI labels and a similar Spotify scheme that marks artist profiles, amid a flood of AI uploads and streaming fraud.
