Neuro-sama, the AI VTuber built by developer vedal987, broke her own record for the longest Twitch Hype Train on January 5 and ended it as the platform's most-subscribed channel.
The train, kept going by viewers gifting subscriptions, reached level 126. When it ended she had more than 160,000 active subscriptions, over twice human streamer Jynxzi's roughly 74,000; he said on stream he had never heard of her.
It is her third record run in about a year: she first took the Hype Train record on January 1, 2025, then beat it in December with around 119,000 subscribers.
Tubefilter notes she predates today's chatbot wave. She began in 2018 as a bot playing osu!, was rebuilt as an animated VTuber, and runs on vedal987's own code rather than a big-tech model, drawing close to a million followers.
