The Sonic Intelligence Academy, the company behind the first AI music charts, is staging an AI Music Awards at The Mayan in downtown Los Angeles on 13 November, with a worldwide stream. The headline promise is that AI-generated acts will perform on the night, described as hybrid human and AI showcases with a live band and visuals, directed from the stage by the people who created each act.

Xania Monet leads the announced line-up, alongside Olivia B Moore, Chaisen Hale, EJ Rogers and Sheena Taylor, with more names promised. Monet is the act built by songwriter Telisha Jones, who ran her poetry through Suno and then landed a multi-million-dollar deal with Hallwood Media after a bidding war. What has not been explained is the mechanics: how an artist that exists only as generated audio delivers a vocal in a room.

The awards run to 25 categories, topped by AI song, artist, album and producer of the year, with ten genre prizes and a Visionary Award. Winners are chosen by artists verified on SIQA's registry rather than by chart position. The organiser says its first-quarter chart data showed nine in ten submitted AI tracks were made with Suno and three quarters were distributed through DistroKid.

Tickets are 250 dollars for a 600-seat room, with fewer than a hundred released publicly. Voice-AI firm Deepgram is a sponsor. The event lands as a test of the one thing generated music has lacked so far, which the same outlet noted when Monet signed: there has been no artist to tour and no stage to build.
