Synopsis
Website imagines a strange website that continuously broadcasts news from other worlds, impossible events that no one in ours has seen. The Bilibili and YouTube descriptions say that people's watching pulls those realities into ours, and the YouTube upload carries the title "Can You Stop Watching Once Observation Exists?"
Hong Kong tech site Unwire describes the rule that drives the film: the more people follow a bizarre piece of news, the faster it becomes real. The film has no named human protagonist. Its images include a cow pushing a cart through the subway, penguins crowding a city street, a husky driving a school bus, Don Quixote charging at a windmill, and the Statue of Liberty stepping down from its pedestal to say it wants to go home.
The film is science fiction in a speculative, absurdist register. Its idea is that attention can shape reality, and that what a crowd chooses to keep watching is what comes to exist.

Website is an 11-minute AI-made science-fiction short film, about 676 seconds, written and directed by Jiaze Li, who posts as DiDi_OK. It was put online on Bilibili in April 2026 and on YouTube on 13 April 2026, and it can be watched free on both. The Reply AI Film Festival's finalist entry calls it a speculative science-fiction film exploring a platform capable of broadcasting impossible events from other worlds.
The film is not a one-click AI generation. Unwire reports that it combines 3D-assisted production, a virtual web page built for the film (which can also be browsed in real life) and several AI models: Google Veo 3 for long takes, Runway and Kling for effects, and Seedance 2 to keep the visuals consistent. The festival entry lists Veo 3, Runway, Kling and Seedance 2 plus an interactive web experience, and says AI enabled rapid creative iteration. A Chinese interview with the maker says the film's camera shake came from combining Blender with an AI video model. Press reports put the budget at under 50,000 yuan. The score is four tracks made with Suno and produced by DiDi_OK, released separately on 27 July 2026. Unwire says Li told it he was the only finalist who did not use pure AI.
Li was born in the 1990s in Zhengzhou, Henan, studied at University of the Arts London and works at a WPP subsidiary, making commercial projects by day and short films at night and at weekends. Unwire says his earlier short Sign (Chinese title Pai Zi) took 23 days and about US$5,000, passed 10 million Bilibili views in its first week and won first prize, 1 million yuan, in Bilibili's first AI creation contest. He has said he improvised his acceptance speech there.
On release, the film drew attention on Bilibili first. Unwire reports more than 5.61 million Bilibili views as of 6 October 2026, and the YouTube upload had about 468,000 views when read on 7 October. The TikTok version had about 21,400 views and the Instagram reel about 2,700 on the same day. Hong Kong 01 and Unwire report that director Guo Fan, known for The Wandering Earth films, commented on Bilibili that it gets better as it goes.
Website was one of ten finalists chosen from more than 3,000 entries from 76 countries at the third Reply AI Film Festival. At the ceremony at the Lido in Venice on 6 September 2026, held during the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, it won the Reply AI Studios Grand Prix and the Community Award powered by WeShort. Unwire says the jury, chaired by Oscar-winning director Gabriele Salvatores, valued its narrative and technical innovation and its mix of traditional techniques with AI. Reply's winners announcement says the jury recognised its use of AI within the creative process.
