Biography
Jiaze Li is a London-based director and AI-driven visual artist with a background in animation and concept design, according to the New Media Film Festival. China News Service reports that he was born in the 1990s, holds a master's degree from University of the Arts London and works for WPP in London. Reply's finalist announcement lists him as an interactive media artist and director from China, while its winners' release calls him an English filmmaker.
His 11-minute science-fiction short Website is about a platform that broadcasts impossible events from other worlds, which then change reality and culture. Reply names Veo 3, Runway, Kling and Seedance 2 as its tools, with an interactive web experience alongside. China News Service says he avoided one-click generation, combining 3D work and virtual web design with AI models for image, video, audio and text, and puts his independent films at about 50,000 yuan each. The short debuted on Bilibili in April and had passed 5.61 million views by September 2026.
Website was one of ten finalists picked from more than 3,100 entries at the 2026 Reply AI Film Festival in Venice, and at the 6 September ceremony it won both the Reply AI Studios Grand Prix and the public-voted Community Award. A further short of his, Sign, was listed at the 2026 New Media Film Festival.
