About this song
You Picked the Wrong One is a single credited to JD Steel, released on 5 March 2026 with 10067505 Records DK on its rights line, a distributor's numbered placeholder rather than a conventional label. The act's own YouTube upload frames it as a song for anyone who has been underestimated by exactly the wrong person, opening with the line that still waters run deep and run cold, and tags it as rebel outlaw country. That upload has drawn more views than most of the act's March 2026 singles. The Spotify recording runs 3 minutes 4 seconds. Deezer marks the release as AI-generated content, saying it includes tracks detected as generated with the use of AI.
