About Breaking Rust
Wikipedia describes the vocals, instrumentation and lyrics as produced with generative AI tools with no human performers, and the persona as a rugged cowboy rendered in AI imagery in dystopian settings; no registration for the act or for Taylor appears at BMI or ASCAP.
The debut EP Resilient arrived in October 2025 with the singles Livin' on Borrowed Time and Walk My Walk, which together put the project at number 9 on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart dated 1 November 2025. Walk My Walk then topped the Country Digital Song Sales chart for two weeks, the first AI-generated country song to do so, on roughly 3,000 downloads; Digital Music News and TIME noted that the chart measures paid downloads only and questioned how much the ranking meant.
By November 2025 the act had over 2 million monthly Spotify listeners, and in December Music Business Worldwide reported that Walk My Walk was briefly removed from Spotify after an impersonation claim, apparently filed by independent artist Bryan Elijah Smith, before being reinstated, while rapper Blanco Brown said the track copied his vocal style. Spotify credits every Breaking Rust track to Taylor, and the releases carry a ℗ line in the act's own name, so they are self-released.
