About this song
"This Is Your America" is a protest-blues single from Dumpster Grooves featuring its fictional singer Bertha Mae Lightning, released on Spotify on 3 March 2026 after a YouTube premiere in February. The video presents it as a lost 1969 protest classic, remastered. According to the project's own disclaimer, Bertha Mae Lightning and her history are invented; Dumpster Grooves writes, arranges and produces the songs and then enhances them with AI to capture the feel of old recordings. The release carries the project's own name on its P-line.
