From the prompt
Wikipedia reports that Stiteler wrote the lyrics himself and that the Suno prompt he used for the music was "80s theme song".

About this song
"The Puerto Rico Song" is a two-minute pop song credited to Saxboy Billy, the name under which Pittsburgh comedian Bill Stiteler posts travel videos. Stiteler started out filming trips to follow the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2024 and found viewers cared more about the journeys, so he began writing lyrics about each place and turning them into songs with the AI generator Suno; the prompt for this one was reportedly just "80s theme song". The lyrics retrace his first visit to Puerto Rico, from a plane that applauded on landing to a bus ride to Caguas, a town he went to because Roberto Clemente played there at 19. Clips set to the track spread widely on TikTok in April 2026 before it was released on 1 May 2026 through Xploded Music, under exclusive licence to Universal Music. Several outlets called it a song of the summer, it reached the iTunes top 10, and Discover Puerto Rico flew him back to film an official video, released on 8 July 2026. Stiteler has said his account is a comedy account and that he is not a musician.
