About this song
I Love You Too Much To Be Your Friend is a single credited to JD Steel, released on 14 February 2026 with 10067505 Records DK, a distributor's numbered placeholder, on its rights line. The act's YouTube channel introduces it as a song for anyone who has had to walk away from someone they love because staying on as just friends would hurt too much: the narrator cannot keep watching that person live a life he has no part in. The Spotify recording runs 4 minutes 11 seconds, the same length as the act's upload. Deezer marks the release as AI-generated content, saying it includes tracks detected as generated with the use of AI.
