About this song
"Behind The Smile", titled "Behind The Smile (It's Okay To Not Be Okay)" on its official video, is a soul-blues single by Jada Monroe released on 29 May 2026 on Dead River Records. Its lyric, printed under the video, follows a woman who keeps smiling at work and at church and holds everyone else together, then sits alone in the dark once the door closes; the description calls it a reminder that nobody has to hide their pain to deserve love. Jada Monroe is a soul-blues act on Dead River Records whose Spotify profile presents her as a character, "a woman shaped from memory" who "doesn't perform", written and directed by N. Moseros; Deezer marks the release as AI-generated content. By 2 October 2026 it had about 241,000 Spotify plays, and the official music video had about 310,000 YouTube views.
