Biography
Nutan, also spelt Nuthan, worked with the Bengaluru temple priest S. Narasimhamurthy on Love You, a 95-minute Kannada feature made with AI tools, and is credited as one of its directors. Accounts of his background differ: Rova describes him as a 38-year-old law graduate turned video editor who was the film's assistant director and editor, ASL India and Eastern Eye call him a graphic designer who taught himself AI tools, and SSTV describes him as the project's AI engineer and planner.
According to Rova, he tested hundreds of programs before settling on about 30, among them Midjourney and Leonardo for images, Minimax and Luma for video, Runway for lip-sync and ElevenLabs for voices. The pair spent about six months and roughly ₹10 lakh, most of it on software licences. The film, which has 12 AI-made songs, received a U/A certificate from India's Central Board of Film Certification, and Rova reports reviews of around 2.5 out of 5.
Speaking to Eastern Eye, he said the tools they had used were already outdated and that the film would look far better if they made it again today.
