Haiyang LIU

Haiyang LIU (Chinese name 刘海洋 in Chinese reports) is credited as AI Director on Mystic Tales: The Spider Lady's Vendetta. Pages available give no birthplace, age or earlier career, so little else about his background can be stated.

The film (Chinese title 《奇谭:纸刃渡荒墟》) premiered on iQIYI and iQIYI International on 23 July 2026. The release describes it as China's first AIGC feature film released online under an Internet Drama and Film Distribution License, running over 60 minutes. A Chinese report says it was co-produced by Dameng Innovation and iQIYI and made by a team of about twenty.

In the film's press release Liu says AIGC's capacity for rapid iteration let the team keep testing different visual directions and validate concepts in a compressed timeframe, pushing creative expression and visual presentation further with every pass. The release adds that his creative team explored more than 200 character and visual asset designs, with lead characters going through over ten rounds of exploration.
