Biography
Adilet Abish is an Almaty-based director and an in-house director and creative producer at the AI video company Higgsfield. Before his AI features, he directed a short legend film for a 2024 Xiaomi Kazakhstan campaign, leading 20 young creators on a trip to Kazakh landmarks and giving a smartphone photography master class, according to the Jolbors Festival awards listing.
He was one of the credited directors on Hell Grind, Higgsfield's 95-minute AI-generated sci-fi heist feature, made by a 15-person team in Kazakhstan in about two weeks for roughly $500,000, by Higgsfield's account. It was shown in Cannes during the 2026 festival at a side event, not in the official programme. Abish told The Wall Street Journal his main aim as a filmmaker was to tell stories, and said he was surprised to be moved to tears by AI-generated characters.
With Aitore Zholdaskali he co-directed The Cully Hill Boys, a 110-minute action comedy that Higgsfield premiered in New York on 5 August 2026 and then put online. The pair led nine directors working on segments at once, within a 28-person team. The film adapts Timothy Planagan's screenplay and uses licensed AI likenesses of Israel Adesanya, Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, N3on and Matt Kiatipis.
Reports say it was generated text-to-video with Seedance 2.5 in Higgsfield's Cinema Studio, with Claude used for prompt writing and Seedream and Nano Banana for refining images. Higgsfield puts the cost at about $2 million, roughly half of it compute, over four weeks, and has published the prompts, character sheets and a 137-entry production log.
