Stella Parton, Dolly Parton's younger sister and a singer herself, has used Instagram to ask the public for kinder tributes, saying the flood of AI-made posts about her sister has been hard for the family to bear. Dolly died on 25 August, aged 80.

She thanked fans whose support has been sincere, but said the family is under daily pressure from strangers and that fabricated material and misinformation keep piling up. Those who profit from other people's grief, she argued, will simply move on to the next tragedy, while the family is left to absorb it.

She asked people to follow Dolly's example of tolerance, noting that her sister kept quiet on divisive topics because she knew how negative online talk could become.
