The San Jose Sharks will play a new goal song from October 1, retiring "Power Bite" after one season. Fans had attacked the track as cheap and generic, and online sleuths concluded that its credited act, BVRNOUT, had most likely made it with Suno.
Fans had reportedly picked the track, yet many felt the club chose it to avoid licensing a known arena anthem. The team never answered the AI claims directly, which fed the anger. It had used "Rock and Roll, Part 2" since 1993.
The change came in a short video in which a Sharks defenceman switches off a speaker playing the old song.
