Chinese streamer Mango TV premieres Yong Bu Diao Dui (Never Fall Behind), an AI-made micro-drama, on Wednesday, China Daily reports. Its ten episodes of about seven minutes follow Zhong Hua, a Red Army soldier who memorises a battle map lost in an explosion during the 1934-36 Long March and uses it to help his unit break out of an encirclement.
The series was made on LumeCreate, Mango TV's own AI content platform, which produced the characters, sets, main footage and theme songs. The team rebuilt Long March terrain in Hunan, including Miao villages and canyon forts, and used silhouettes and soft light to tone down the battle violence.
Work ran from May to September, and skipping sets and location shoots saved both time and money, the report says. The songs began from prompts written by a language model and were then reworked by musicians.
