Liza Minnelli has put out new music for the first time in more than a decade: an EDM track called "Kids, Wait Till You Hear This", named after her memoir due on March 10, 2026. The AI audio company ElevenLabs worked on the song with her.
Announcing it on Instagram, Minnelli drew a firm line around what the technology did. By her account AI shaped the arrangements while the vocals are her own; she said she would not let the company clone or copy her voice, and she waved away online claims that the whole track was machine-made.
In a separate statement she described the tools as serving her expression rather than replacing it. American Songwriter sets the release against the many artists who have warned about AI, noting that Minnelli chose to treat it as an instrument.
