Hoichoi, the SVF-backed streaming service built on Bengali-language content, is moving into AI production. Its founder, Vishnu Mohta, has set up LoglineAI, an AI-native studio that makes films, series and branded content on an in-house pipeline called LoglineOS, aiming at multilingual IP in fantasy, mythology, science fiction, horror and animation.
Mohta told Moneycontrol the team has spent about 18 months testing AI-led production and expects to present its first fully AI-generated show among Hoichoi's Season 10 announcements. That slate is due to include around 25 shows, four or five films and two LoglineAI projects. He sees the roughly 200 original Bengali series Hoichoi already owns as material that can be adapted across languages and markets.
The studio is one of several new ventures. Sooper, a paid platform for microdramas and audio dramas, is launching in India and the US at once, with more than 40 Hindi titles in India and about 20 microdramas and 20 audio series in the US; AI will be used in its planning, curation and production. Hoichoi FM adds over 1,000 minutes of Bengali audio fiction inside the existing app. Mohta says the aim is to reach younger viewers who live on vertical video and audio.
Overseas subscribers, largely diaspora audiences paying about $10 to $12 a month, now bring in roughly 40 percent of revenue, and the company is also looking at Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi and Gujarati content. Ten years in, Hoichoi reports annual growth of 20 to 30 percent, says it has been cash-neutral for three to four years and has no outside investors.
For all the new formats, Mohta insists storytelling remains the core business, with everything else secondary, and says he prefers steady growth to expansion bought with heavy marketing.
