London AI voice firm Voice-Swap has joined DDEX, which sets the music industry's metadata standards, as the first dedicated AI voice company in the process. It wants the standards to record which voice model was used, whose identity it carries, who consented, what uses are allowed and how rights are reported.
Its strategy chief Michael Pelczynski argues that as AI vocals enter ordinary production, those permissions must be readable across the supply chain. DDEX's Mark Isherwood said the expertise will help its AI-related standards meet the industry's needs.
The SoundCloud-partnered company has grown through 2026 with a text-to-speech product, instant voice cloning and a roster of licensable artist voices, and earlier joined a WIPO technical network alongside labels.
