Synopsis

Minutes before her flight boards, a young woman realizes her passport is on the other side of town. She has almost no time, so she sets off on a mad dash across the city to fetch it and get back to the airport.

The city she runs through is in the middle of an absurd apocalypse. Traffic, chasing figures and comic obstacles stand between her and the departure gate, and the film plays the race for suspense and for laughs. Its key art shows the red-haired heroine mid-sprint in a blue top and plaid skirt, with pursuers and motorbikes behind her.

The short is built as a single frantic chase with a twist partway through, and a taxi driver gets a running gag along the way. Beyond that, the pages I could read do not describe the plot in more detail, so the ending is not summarised here.

About the Show

Passport Rush is a 4 minute 34 second animated short released on 25 September 2026 on the Higgsfield Animation YouTube channel, where it carries the title "Passport Rush | AI Animated Short Film | Higgsfield Originals (2026)". Higgsfield also lists it as one of its Originals on its own site, where a runtime of 4:48 is shown.

Higgsfield describes it as the first hybrid AI-animated short made with a Blender plus Higgsfield pipeline. By its account, the film combines handcrafted 2D storyboards and 3D Blender previs with AI animation made on the Higgsfield platform. The human work therefore covers the storyboards and the blocking of each scene, while the final animated frames are AI-generated.

The makers say the whole production is open: every storyboard, Blender scene and prompt is published, so that viewers can rebuild any shot themselves. A trade write-up from Complete AI Training, dated 27 September 2026, frames the release as an open-source reference for creative teams and educators who want to see how hand-drawn planning and 3D layout steer AI image synthesis. Higgsfield also published a separate breakdown video on how to animate a short film with Blender and Higgsfield.

The pages read name no director, writers, voice cast or composer, and name no specific AI model for the film: they say only that it was made with AI animation on Higgsfield. Reception on YouTube was large, with about 163,000 views by mid-October 2026, and the comments are mostly warm, with some viewers pointing to uneven animation in certain shots.
