Synopsis
Oneiric opens in a college dorm, where four friends are talking about news of a new technology, called Oneiric, that can plug a person's brain into any time and place. Each of them says where he would spend a single day if he could.
Bob would go to the Trojan War to see Helen with his own eyes. Sam imagines a deep-space future as a galactic pirate. Rudy pictures a fairy-tale world, where he is a mage riding a griffin. Each wish becomes its own vignette in a different genre, so the film moves between myth, space adventure and fantasy while the dorm conversation ties them together.
The tone is playful and genre-hopping, a run of wish-fulfilment fantasies built around what people would choose to live through if any place and moment were open to them.

Oneiric is a roughly twenty-minute science-fiction drama released by Higgsfield, the AI video company, under its Higgsfield Originals label. It went up on Higgsfield's YouTube channel on 13 August 2026 and is also listed on the company's community site. Higgsfield calls it 100% AI and made entirely on its own Cinema Studio 4 tool.
Higgsfield says every prompt and every asset behind the film is public, so viewers can study how it was built and recreate any shot. A Russian-language TikTok commentator cites the published figures as 41,096 generations, which that account puts at about 34 to 35 attempts per second of finished video. One X user described it as less a finished film than a masterclass anyone can open. One blogger who covered it called the claim of being fully open source and AI-made "allegedly" so, because the page did not itself show the prompts.
It was made for the 1,000,000-dollar Higgsfield Global Film Festival, whose entry page is linked from the video description, and Higgsfield's own post called it "the most realistic AI movie ever made". The YouTube upload had about 2.32 million views when read on 9 October 2026. The Dutch outlet ID.nl reported it the next day as twenty minutes long and fully AI-generated, noting that it draws on Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings and Guardians of the Galaxy.
The blogger John JR found the thumbnail a poor choice but said the short itself was better than two big-budget films he saw in cinemas this year. A forum commenter found the storytelling and facial acting limited but the technical execution impressive. The pages read name no cast or underlying video models beyond Higgsfield's Cinema Studio 4.
