Synopsis

In 1920s Chukotka, in the Russian Arctic, a young huntress is exiled with her father, whose fading mind mistakes her for his dead wife. She leads him across the frozen wilderness toward the sacred Whale Bone Alley.

She believes her own life is the price of saving him, but the journey demands a sacrifice she never imagined. Cold, firelight and snow shape the film's mood, and it is framed as an Arctic drama about love, sacrifice and the cost of letting go.

About the Show

Anerneq is a 20-minute Arctic drama short produced by Higgsfield, the AI video platform, and released in 2026 as one of its Original Series titles. It premiered on 2026-09-28 on Higgsfield's YouTube channel under the title "The World's Most Realistic AI Film | Higgsfield Originals (2026)", and it can also be watched on the Original Series page of Higgsfield's site, where it is credited to the higgsfield.studio account.

Higgsfield's YouTube description says the film "solved some of the hardest challenges in AI filmmaking" and is built around three things AI video usually gets wrong: natural handheld camera movement, realistic firelight and detailed snow textures. The Original Series page names Seedance 2.5 as the model, available on Higgsfield, and the project page lists 11,961 generations and 84 assets, with a creation date of September 24. No page read names a director, cast, writer or composer, and Higgsfield is the only credited maker.

Higgsfield calls the project fully open-sourced: the whole production is open, so viewers can see how each of those problems was solved and recreate any shot themselves on its platform. The studio presents this as a showcase of what its tools can do, and the claim of realism in the video's title is its own.

On release, the YouTube upload had about 122,000 views when read on 2026-10-12, and the Higgsfield page showed 17,632 views. No press coverage, reviews or festival entries for the film turned up in searches, so its reception is known only from viewer comments on the upload.
