Biography
Stepan Abramov is a designer and filmmaker who, on Instagram, gives his bases as Saint Petersburg and Almaty and lists architecture, film, animation and design among his fields. Kazakh press names him among the Kazakhstani directors of Kök Börü.
He is one of three credited directors, with Shakhnazar Borboev and Amina Ömirjan, of Kök Börü, the 15-minute animated short by AI video company Higgsfield that premiered at SIGGRAPH 2026 in Los Angeles. In an August 2026 Instagram post he described the film as blending generative AI with human art, and credited himself as director, in production and for its cover. Higgsfield says the film was made in two weeks by a small team combining AI-generated designs with hand-drawn animation, and voiced by native Kazakh actors.
