Italian AI filmmaker working as LUCID, whose short GO HOME was a 2026 Reply AI Film Festival finalist and who wrote and directed the dark-fantasy short GRUB.
Biography
Simone Paradiso is an Italian AI filmmaker and director who works under the name LUCID. His studio site presents LUCID as an AI production pipeline that runs direction, prompting, image systems, editing, sound and delivery as one process, offering campaigns, reels and short films, along with two browser tools of his own, LUCID LAB and LUCID FX.
GO HOME, a 14-minute short set in New York in 1999, follows four teenagers who stumble on a hidden military bunker. It was made with Higgsfield Soul Cinema, GPT Image 2.0 and Seedance 2.0, and was one of ten finalists, chosen from more than 3,000 entries, at the third Reply AI Film Festival, held during the 2026 Venice International Film Festival. The LUCID site says one person wrote, generated and edited it, while the festival's write-up mentions a small crew.
GRUB (2026) is a dark-fantasy short of 19 minutes 53 seconds that Paradiso wrote, directed, prompted and edited. Set on the mining world Nara IX, it follows a colonist who deals a drug called Heaven alongside Grub, the last of his kind, and was written as the opening of a series. Its film page describes about 80 generated shots and no stock footage: a locked script and shot list, reusable character, prop and location references, editing in DaVinci Resolve and a synthesised score. He has also made CEUTA, an 18-minute drama in darija and French, and 1200 AD, a short about a medieval battle.
