Biography

Pax Chen (Chen Zhuo) is the founder and CEO of FizzDragon, a Singapore-based company that calls itself the world's first AIGC film production company. She studied electrical engineering at the National University of Singapore, and SG AI Daily says she once wanted to go into aerospace engineering.

FizzDragon's earlier feature, Pirate Queen: Zheng Yi Sao, involved more than 130 creators. An Alibaba Cloud case study says the company's pipeline uses Alibaba's Qwen, Wan and Happy Horse models alongside more than 20 video AI tools and nearly 100 of its own AI agents, and quotes Chen on building it on Alibaba's cloud.

Chen is credited as producer of Trace Project, a 64-minute AI-generated science-fiction feature that grew out of a novel she wrote, drawing on her engineering background and interest in space. It follows a young Singaporean raised in public housing who becomes the country's first astronaut and is sent to Mars as Earth's ecosystem fails. About 10 people across three countries made it, and it had a single screening at Golden Village VivoCity on 9 August 2026, National Day, with a release on the FizzDragon app and distribution in Malaysia and the US announced.

The film was mocked online as "AI slop" around the screening. Chen called it an experiment, said not everyone would like it, and compared AI to early cars that were slower than horse carriages. She said a senior Singapore Film Society figure had suggested the date; the society's chairman, Kenneth Tan, told Stomp it had suggested nothing to anyone.
