Summary
Granny Spills is an AI-generated grandmother character, dressed in all-pink designer outfits, who delivers blunt and glamorous advice on dating, money and self-respect in short vertical videos and image posts. TIME reported in November 2025 that she is not a real person but an AI creation made by two twenty-something content creators, Eric Suerez and Adam Vaserstein, business partners at Blur Studios, a Miami studio that also runs the AI street interviewer Joey on the Street. Her Instagram bio reads "Birthed by @blurstudios.ai" and "Spilling tea & designer receipts since 1950"; her own pages never use the word AI, and no page read names a human who voices or performs her.
She began posting in 2025 and, according to TIME, reached about one million Instagram followers and 400,000 TikTok followers within her first few weeks; the line "Flowers die, honey. My Chanel bags are forever" was cited as a video liked nearly a million times. The feed mixes relationship advice, luxury and designer content and meme posts, several a day on Instagram and TikTok, and one recent post carries a paid-partnership tag. On 1 October 2026 the Instagram account showed 2.1 million followers and 196 posts, the TikTok account 934.5K followers and 13.2 million likes, and the YouTube channel 2.26K subscribers with no uploads since July 2026.
Is Granny Spills AI?
Yes. Granny Spills is an AI-generated grandmother character made by Eric Suerez and Adam Vaserstein of the Miami content studio Blur Studios; no real woman plays her.
The strongest evidence comes from TIME, which interviewed her two creators. It says plainly that Granny Spills is not a real person but an AI creation by Eric Suerez and Adam Vaserstein of Blur Studios. They told TIME they use Claude to draft concepts and scripts, then turn them into video with Veo and other AI apps. Her own Instagram bio points the same way: it says she was "Birthed by @blurstudios.ai" and gives a Blur Studios email address, although her profile never uses the word AI and the page shows no AI label from Instagram.
Smaller explainer sites agree. Bracai says she is not filmed and that there is no actor, set or camera crew, only humans who review the scripts and finished clips. Startup Spells calls her obviously AI-generated and says she was made with Google's Veo 3. These sites add little beyond TIME, but none of them contradicts it, and no page names a woman who models for her or poses as her.
One question is still open. No page says how her voice is produced, so it is not known whether the voice is synthetic or recorded by a person. Her scripts are written and checked by her human creators, so she is an AI persona run by people, not an autonomous AI.
