Biography
Ezra Li is a visual artist and director who works with generative AI. Li's short Home, made with Runway within the 48-hour window of Runway's Gen:48 competition, is listed among the winners of its fourth edition, and a May 2025 roundup of that edition named it the Grand Prix winner. The film considers what makes a place feel like home and what it means to lose one and find another.
Li met Alex Naghavi at Google's inaugural Flow Sessions residency in late 2025, and the two co-directed Le Drip, an animated short written by Jessie Hughes that depicts a fish's last day on Earth through living oil paintings. It was made mainly in Flora, alongside Nano Banana, Claude, Seedance, Runway, Leonardo and ElevenLabs, and the makers state that every creative decision was human. Le Drip placed second at the Reply AI Film Festival 2026, presented in Venice on 6 September, and was billed as Altera Festival 2026's Best Animated Film.
