Biography
Alex Naghavi is an Australian creative director and AI filmmaker, originally from Sydney and now based in Los Angeles; her site describes her as a first-generation Australian of Persian and Dutch heritage. She joined design and venture studio Josephmark as an intern and rose to Executive Creative Director and partner, leading the Myspace platform redesign and the RCA Records brand refresh. A February 2026 interview said she had since moved in-house to Block (Cash App, Square, TIDAL) while building Seamless Studio, an AI startup for design mockups.
Her AI shorts include Railbound, Gentle and Feast. Forbes Australia reported in April 2026 that her films had won awards including Best Film and Best Director, and that George Miller recognised Gentle at the OMNI International AI Film Festival in Sydney. Depths (2025), a 75-second experimental piece, was made with Midjourney and Runway. She is a Runway Gen:48 honouree and a Google Flow artist resident, was named to the Eames Institute's Curious 100, and appears on Leonardo.Ai's Top 50 Women AI Artists and Top 50 Women AI Filmmakers lists.
She met Ezra Li at Google's inaugural Flow Sessions residency in late 2025, and they co-directed Le Drip, a five-minute French-language animated dark comedy written by Jessie Hughes that shows a fish's last day on Earth through moving oil-paint imagery. It was made mainly in Flora, with Nano Banana, Claude, Seedance, Runway, Leonardo and ElevenLabs, and the makers say every creative decision was human. It placed second at the Reply AI Film Festival in Venice in September 2026 and was billed as Altera Festival 2026's Best Animated Film.
