Biography
Chan Gin Kai is a Singaporean film producer and financier, CEO of Silver Media Group, whose Silver Media Fund invests in film, animation and games. He studied accounting and holds a master's in technology management. An early company he co-founded, Upside Down Concepts, did production work for clients such as MediaCorp, Discovery and CNBC, and he says he has worked on co-productions with more than 20 countries.
His producing credits include the Philippine horror film Eerie (2018) and the Hong Kong animated feature Another World, which premiered at Annecy in 2025 and won best animated feature at the 62nd Golden Horse Awards. Its North American distributor, GKIDS, calls it the highest-grossing Hong Kong animated film.
In March 2026 Edenstone announced that Silver Media Fund would structure and lead a capital raise to expand Spore Fall, a vertical micro-drama series the studio bills as human-written and AI-realised, into features, games and collectibles, with Chan joining as executive producer. He was also executive producer of Bersama Majulah, a roughly four-minute Spore Fall spin-off released for Singapore's National Day on 9 August 2026, in which a parade is overrun by a spore outbreak. Showrunner Joel Boh says people wrote the story while AI handled environments and effects; the film drew online criticism over its AI use.
